As part of the 2018 Commonwealth Games planning, the Gold Coast City Council and State Government had proposed a significant upgrade to the transport infrastructure of the city. The $1.6 billion dollar project commenced in 2010 and is expected to be completed by 2018. During the period of displacement and construction, the Consortium commissioned a photorealistic visualization of the finished project to use as a marketing tool to assist in informing the public.
